The Jade Dragon is not merely a symbol of power; it represents balance, wisdom, and mastery over oneself. To truly understand the teachings of the Jade Dragon, you must first grasp the significance of sexual energy (chi) in Eastern philosophy. Chi is life force energy that flows through everything, including your sexual experiences. By learning to harness and circulate this energy, you’ll unlock your full potential.

  • The Benefits of Harnessing Sexual Energy: Increased Vitality, Focus, and Confidence

In the early 2000s, I came across a Taoist sex cult in Phoenix, Arizona, led by a man named Hsi Lai. He authored a book that was published by Simon and Schuster in 2002, but shortly after, he vanished without a trace. Despite his disappearance, the courtesans I knew continued to follow and practice his teachings.

Now with that said, we developed a whole new understanding of sexual health based on these principles.

Most men unconsciously waste their sexual energy through frequent ejaculation without understanding the consequences. In today’s fast-paced, pleasure-driven world, sexual power is often squandered through casual sex, pornography, and unchecked desires. The constant release of sexual energy can lead to fatigue, lack of focus, and diminished vitality. Instead of using this energy constructively, many men fall into the trap of instant gratification, leaving them feeling drained and less motivated in other areas of life. The key to breaking this cycle is learning to manage and conserve sexual energy, using it to fuel higher pursuits.

What is sexual chi?

Sexual Chi, or sexual energy, is not limited to the traditional meridians like the Kidney channel often discussed in Chinese medicine. While meridians such as the Kidney are crucial for storing and regulating life force energy, sexual chi also flows through what are known as “strange flows” or “extraordinary meridians.” One of the most important of these is the Penetrating Flow (Chong Mai), which is closely linked to deep sexual energy, vitality, and even spiritual transformation.

Understanding Jing: The Essence of Sexual Energy

At the core of sexual chi is Jing, the essence that represents your primal life force. Jing is a highly concentrated form of energy, stored in the Kidneys, that governs your sexual vitality, reproductive health, and longevity. In Taoist practices, preserving Jing is essential for maintaining youth, vitality, and overall health. While meridians help circulate chi, Jing serves as the deeper source from which your sexual energy is derived. Mismanagement or overuse of Jing, such as through excessive ejaculation or lack of self-care, depletes this vital essence, leading to fatigue, illness, and premature aging.

The Penetrating Flow: A Deep Reservoir of Sexual Energy

The Penetrating Flow (Chong Mai) is one of the eight extraordinary meridians and is sometimes referred to as the “sea of blood and chi.” It governs deep layers of energy, particularly those related to sexuality and reproductive health. The Penetrating Flow runs vertically through the center of the body, connecting the root energy at the base of the spine with the crown of the head, acting like a deep reservoir for sexual energy and Jing.

How to Find and Trace the Penetrating Flow with Your Hands

You can begin to connect with your Penetrating Flow through a practice of mindful body tracing. Here’s a simple exercise to help you locate and trace the flow of energy:

  1. Prepare the Mind and Body: Start in a relaxed, seated position. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and bring your awareness to your lower abdomen, just below the navel. This is your Lower Dantian, where sexual chi is often stored.
  2. Locate the Root of the Penetrating Flow: Place your hands gently on your perineum, the area between your genitals and anus. This is the energetic root of the Penetrating Flow, also called the Huiyin (CV-1). With each breath, feel the warmth and subtle energy gathering in this area.
  3. Trace the Flow Upward: Slowly begin to trace your hands upward from the Huiyin point, along the midline of your body. Move your hands up over your pubic bone, up the center of your abdomen, following the natural curve of your body. As you do this, visualize a warm, golden flow of energy rising from your root.
  4. Continue to the Crown: Trace your hands up past your chest, over the throat, and finally up to the top of your head (the Baihui, GV-20). This completes the connection between your sexual energy and your higher spiritual centers. With each movement, imagine that you’re guiding the deep, rich energy of the Penetrating Flow through your body.
  5. Feel the Circulation: Once you’ve traced the full pathway, rest your hands gently on your abdomen again and take several deep breaths. Focus on feeling the energy circulating throughout your body, particularly the warmth and vitality flowing upward from your sexual center.

Tuning Into the Strange Flows

Finding and working with these “strange flows” or extraordinary meridians like the Penetrating Flow is about developing a heightened sensitivity to the subtle energies in your body. Over time, as you practice tracing and guiding your sexual chi, you’ll begin to feel where these flows are blocked or weak and how to strengthen them through breathwork, visualization, and mindful touch.

Mastering sexual chi goes beyond just balancing your Kidney meridians — it involves tapping into the deeper, more mysterious energy channels like the Penetrating Flow to access reservoirs of vitality, creativity, and sexual power.
